Frequently asked questions

What does a Thai fishing charter typically cost?

Inshore half-day Andaman charters run 8,000-15,000 THB. Full-day offshore (sailfish, GT popping) 18,000-35,000 THB. Liveaboards to the Similan/Surin zone 5,000-12,000 THB per person per day. All figures verify before booking.

Which coast is best for serious offshore fishing?

The Andaman (Phuket / Khao Lak / Krabi) is the flagship offshore region from October through April. GT popping, sailfish, dogtooth tuna. The Gulf (Pattaya / Koh Tao / Chumphon) is counter-cyclical and best March-September.

Can a charter cancel because of weather?

Yes — and they should, if conditions are unsafe. Confirm the operator's cancellation policy + refund/reschedule terms in writing before paying a deposit. Reputable operators offer date-shift not cash-refund.

What should I ask before booking?

Insurance coverage, weather cancellation terms, deposit + balance schedule, what's included (lunch, water, tackle, lures), boat size + passenger limit, captain's English level, departure point and time, route + zone they fish.

Charter pricing, departure times, and operator status change. Confirm with the operator directly before paying. See our regulations hub for marine national park rules and pre-booking due-diligence questions.
